Main functional substances

• Menthol: Used since ancient times, it has refreshing, decongestant, antiseptic properties and disinfectants. Natural (non-synthetic) menthol is a component extracted and purified from the mint plant. The main feature is its high volatility (ability to evaporate). This has two consequences: the most immediate is its characteristic odor, as it quickly reaches the receptors of our nose; the second most useful is the fact that when it evaporates it absorbs the surface heat of our skin, immediately causing a sensation of cold. Superficial cooling is not only useful for the consequent sensation of lightness of the limbs, but first of all carries out a specific toning action of the vascular bed to determine an improvement in blood circulation (thermal shock).
  
• Essential oil of Gaultheria procumbens: it owes its name to Jean-François Gaulthier (1708 1756), physician-botanist of the king of Quebec. Note that the Eskimos and Indians of Canada have chewed or prepared Wintergreen leaves since the dawn of time to relieve fever and soothe aches and pains. This fairy of the Great North, called "forest tea" in Quebec, played an important role in pharmacology: in the 19th century, North America supplied Europe with the essence of wintergreen, extracted from the whole plant. In 1844, William Proctor, father of the American pharmacist and Frenchman Auguste Cahours, isolated the main constituent of this essential oil, methyl salicylate; then Cahours synthesized salicylic acid by hydrolysis, first used as a remedy for rheumatism prior to the synthesis of acetylsalicylic acid. Wintergreen essential oil is extracted from the leaves, which are soaked in hot water for a whole night to obtain methyl salicylate by enzymatic fermentation, and then steam distilled. It consists of almost 99% methyl salicylate, which has a pronounced soothing effect on redness and pain. Therefore, Wintergreen essential oil is excellent for fighting muscle aches and pains associated with intense physical exertion and rheumatism
• Rosemary officinalis essential oil: In cosmetics, it is attributed cleansing, deodorant, toning / stimulating activities of the skin.
• Lavender essential oil: Contains numerous compounds, the most important of which are linalyl acetate, linalool and cineole. In cosmetics it has a soothing and healing effect on the skin. It also tightens the skin. Finally, it is also able to counteract cellulite, orange peel skin and stretch marks, regenerate the epidermis.
• Bergamot essential oil: Essential oil from fruit peel. In fact, it has a beneficial effect on microcirculation and is indicated for circulatory problems, to increase the resistance of capillaries, to relieve heavy legs and to fight cellulite.
• Sicilian Orange Essential Oil: Essential oil from the peel and from the fruit of the sweet orange. It has toning and draining properties of the tissues. It also helps to reactivate the circulation and fight cellulite. It stimulates cell regeneration and helps keep the skin compact and firm.
• Vegetable Glycerin: has a natural ability to retain water, it is also used for its characteristic humectant and moisturizing effect. With its strong moisturizing effect, it is ideal for maintaining healthy, protected, soft and hydrated skin.

Application
